Title: Turrican and Rossi's Road to Somewhere
Description: ..just without the campervan.

Turrican - November 24, 2005 11:23 PM (GMT)
With just over a week to go until the whole Retro Ball kicks off, I thought I might start keeping a little online diary kind of thing for the only 2 scots who are going to the ball by car (as I know Alzo is going by other means).

Let's see how long I can keep this going for then.... hopefully til I get back from the ball itself :D

boyo - November 24, 2005 11:51 PM (GMT)
This I gotta hear.... :o B)

Sounds like fun. :D

Day 1.

One week til I take time off for the Retro Ball and actually attempt to drive more than 10 miles without stabilizers as I need to get to Rossi's before we set off for our wonderful journey to a small, unknown place on the global map...... oh yeah.. ENGLAND!!! that's the one. ;)

The excitement is starting to build as is my small bank balance to spend stuff when I'm there (Oh screw lying.... it's all for the beer, isn't it??).

More tomorrow.... well, maybe.

Peace, out :D

Day 2.

Well this time next week the gaming and pretty much all the alcohol I can consume will be flowing. Really am starting to get a bit excited. Took the chance to routeplan a way to get to Rossi's pad and realise that I have a nice drive ahead of me, but I know the end result is gonna be pukka.

It won't be long 'til the uncontrollable giggling..... scary.. :D

Turrican - November 29, 2005 06:59 PM (GMT)
Days 3, 4 and 5 (seein as how I don't want to miss any)

Pretty much been spent getting preparations underway, and a pair of brown corderoy's if Rossi's idea of idylic driving is anything to go by ;).

A bunch of scots driving down to England, who now have a 24 hour drinking thing goin on..... :D like a red rag to a bull.... OH YEAH BABY!!

Still... only 4 days left.... can't wait :D

Turrican - December 2, 2005 06:22 PM (GMT)
Days 6, 7 and 8.

Pretty much rip raring to go. Just have to try and figure out where I'm heading to start with and I'll be fine :D

Got everything packed in my little weekend bag, leaving room for anything that may well be bought, as long as I don't sneeze during the auction for a signed copy of Rise of the Robots.... yeeeuchhh.

Tomorrow however, the wait will all be over and we shall all be together as one happy retro family. Who knows, maybe after 20 beers the chair legs will look attractive.

Oh well, I'm signing off til I get back.... see you all tomorrow if you're there. :D

rossi46 - December 2, 2005 07:11 PM (GMT)

Don't worry, we've got the roadblock set up... They won't get in that easily ;)

rossi46 - December 2, 2005 09:45 PM (GMT)
Getting slightly concerned, now. No sign of Turrican, and he's not answering his phone...

DonkeySpank - December 2, 2005 11:14 PM (GMT)
What happened? I hope you're on your way down now, I can do with a few piss-heads to help boyo, koops and me with the ale!

RETRO BALL WEEKEND

Well the time has been and gone, but what a time was had. To meet everyone from Boyo, Strider and Merman the invincible (that man can creep in and out of the shadows, man... it's SPOOKY :P) to Helloall, Koopa, Mike, Donkeyspank, BTyler, DJ Massive, AlzoXP and the others that I have forgotten to mention, of which I am sorry..

Rossi was great company on both journeys and we both had a stonking time. Seeing all those old arcade machines in action and the pinball machines were something else, and the feeling of just being able to go up to someone like Archer Maclean and get an autograph, feeling like you have known him for years is something quite remarkable.

Q and A was really cool and insightful, and the whole weekend was a complete blast.

Cheers guys for making it a fantastic weekend and It's good to meet all of you guys in the flesh... :D

Dairy ended.
