Title: Worst ever
Elgin_McQueen - November 28, 2005 11:01 PM (GMT)
What's the worst game you've ever bought? For me gotta be star wars super bombad racing. :( :( :(
Neilos626 - November 28, 2005 11:03 PM (GMT)
Shenmue 2, what a pile of shit!
Elgin_McQueen - November 28, 2005 11:20 PM (GMT)
I've never actually played a shenmue game, they sounds like either the greatest games in the world, or the worst.
Green Arrow - November 28, 2005 11:30 PM (GMT)
I cant stand either Shenmue games yet they're taking up space on my shelf. They ain't mine though so I can't count them. I'd say Halo only because its the only game that had me selling a whole console with it cos I really didn't like it at all and at the time it was said that Halo was the sole reason to own an Xbox.
It wasn't terrible. Just thought it was overrated and not worth the couple of hundreds I payed to play it.
Don't think I've ever payed out cash for a truly abysmal game.

Fighter Maker - PS1
The only game I've ever taken back because it was so bad.
pottyboy - November 29, 2005 09:56 AM (GMT)
Killzone - PS2
Great graphics but it bored me to tears!
planetmatt - November 29, 2005 10:33 AM (GMT)
Dont know about ever, but just bought MGS3 for the PS2 and it is soooo boring and frustrating. After playing the excellent RE4, MGS3 just seems slow and tedious and i was expecting much better graphics.

I felt that at first when I bought it and then didn't touch it again for about 3 months until I was really bored and trying to find something to do. Then I loaded it up again and got really into it. It's now one of my favorites.

The later has reverse controls! In a car game! ARRGH! TOTAL CRAP!
The Vern.

I hate Powermonger.
Bloody mate played it every night after school and I had to sit and read Amiga power 10 times over.
Bought it again for him for crimbo 10 years on - what i good mate I am.
Still Fuwking hate the game - Gotta be one of the worst spectator games ever.
OfficerGG - November 29, 2005 04:28 PM (GMT)
Rampage for the 8bit Atari – absolutely awful, no redeeming features whatsoever!!!
DonkeySpank - November 29, 2005 04:52 PM (GMT)
Has to be "V" on the Speccy - pile of catcrap
Freddy Hardest - November 29, 2005 07:07 PM (GMT)
Ultraman on the SNES. OH MY LORDY LORD!!!!!
Robbo - November 30, 2005 06:28 PM (GMT)
God there have been some proper shite games over the years. Picking one will be a task!
But I never said I wouldn't have a go... ;)
In my opinion it has to be EA's Total Football Manager (or something along those lines) on the PC. Bought it when I was off work for a long period of time to try and rekindle my old love for footy management games like Football Manager and Premier Manager... but this game was sooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo shit
All I remember was paying £25 for it and after installing it and trying to play it, I was so disgusted with it's tedioso gameplay (build facilities, train players, organise contacts, sponsors and scouts, everything but actually MANAGE the TEAM) God I hated it. It sat in my games collection gathering dust for a couple of weeks then one day in the weeks that followed, it found it's way into the wheelie bin. Total waste of £25. <_<
Robbo.
PS. Can't seem to get into ANY modern day footy management games these days as they all seem to have the same boring gameplay where it takes you a good couple of hours before you even get to play a single game. Whatever happened to the simplicity of Premier Manager (Amiga) where a whole season was doable in one sitting?
fitter - November 30, 2005 08:51 PM (GMT)
Lone Soldier for the playstation. Utter rubbish and even managed to have my first flame war with the developer of the game on the newsgroups!

Go for champ man 3 Robbo 01/02 to be exact (The red one) - Pick it up from egay for a couple of quid then download a data update, PM me for the latest one if you like.
Its so simple and fast - yes champ man is fast now on a modern PC.
Ive bought both FM2005 & 2006 and still go back to this - I just think more options havent made for a better game.
rossi46 - November 30, 2005 10:26 PM (GMT)
The Crow or The Hulk on Sega Saturn, or even Doom on Saturn.

NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO
Champ manager 3 is THE best version! I have all versions from Champ2 to the red boxed one you speak of, and I think 3 is the best - and yes you can update the data sets ;)
helloall - November 30, 2005 11:14 PM (GMT)
Get them both Robbo lad and say goodbye to everyone you know and say hello to lots of beer, get a nice foot stool and skysports.
You can even window it and post on this forum too - Like im doin now
:)
Bliss mate - I do a season in an evening mate and its still adtive stuff.
*Koopes gotta go for this one mate, complain to the fa, board, player comparions etc
Isnt CM3 the same without the above?
koopa42 - December 1, 2005 11:25 AM (GMT)
yeah pretty much but for me its the exact level of intricacy I like ;)
I don't like the things like players going awol and arguing for wages - just find that maddening and not fun (although fining players is fun ;) )
as for champ 3 I have spent what probably amounts to years playing it, have even been known (on MANY an occasion) to play through the night then go to work LOL, you know when your having a sweet season
I even have a little notebook of players I have discovered over the years LMAO!
Another thing I don't like about the red edition is the 'nickname' option, just lets people cheat and see exactly who and where the likes of dennis bergkamp regenerate as a world class 14 year old GRRRR
brucepingsteen - December 1, 2005 04:46 PM (GMT)
Enduro Racer on the C64.
Also just about every Movie license from Ocean on the C64.

I've been playing 01/02 for ages, bought the new ones now and again but just kept installing them and going back to this one, till 2 weeks ago.
Found out someone had managed to snap the disc ( I suspect li'l bro, though he denies it ) Looked and looked, can't find another copy of it anywhere so ended up forking out for FM2005 cause I heard it was good. It's not bad but just not the same as my good old 01/02. Mate's said he'll look out for a copy while in Edinburgh next week, but I doubt he'll find one.
psj3809 - December 2, 2005 09:39 AM (GMT)
Well my mate bought World Cup Football, seemed so good at the time and you had a ton of stuff with it, sadly he (or me) didnt read the reviews first !
Worst game for me was Superbowl by Ocean. I love american football and this was the first american footy game out for the Speccy. Dire it was, totally bugged and didnt work properly. Terrible letdown.
The other letdown for me was Fat Worm Blows a Sparky. Had a Crash Smash and i used to use Crash like a bible but that game i think they totally got wrong . Luckily managed to exchange it at WHSmiths and take it back. Terrible game though. Tried giving it a go a few months back to see if i was wrong but hated it.

Use the No CD patch from gamecopyworld.
(Will then work without the disc aslong as you still have it installed)
As you have bought the game I dont think its too naughty.
Badger - December 2, 2005 10:09 AM (GMT)
Fat Worm Blows A Sparky on the Speccy.
OK let me contextualise this for you. Bought it for its "revolutionary graphics" and gameplay. A Crash Smash of 90-something-or-other percent, boasting the ultimate in addictive gameplay, etc, etc.
Crashingly dull, more like. My god what a disappointment! Perhaps not the worst game ever but easily the biggest let down.
Oh, and Ikari Warriors on the Atari ST. That was simply shite in a glass jar.
DonkeySpank - December 2, 2005 10:18 AM (GMT)
I quite liked Ikari Warriors on teh ST, and Karate Kid also - except that crap level where you had to catch the fly with chopsticks! WTF?!?!?!
Scooby Doo on the speccy was a total letdown - I remember seeing the ads for it in Crash and it looked like a "cartoon" (well, for the speccy it did!) and then heard nothing about it for months. Suddenly, there it is in WHSmith, so I grab it, buy it, and get it home. I patiently load it up, drooling in anticipation of this revolutionary "seemless toryline gameplay" only to find a REALLY crap platform game instead. AAAAARRGHH!!!
Badger - December 2, 2005 10:33 AM (GMT)
Toryline? I didn't realise the gameplay involved right-of-centre politics
psj3809 - December 2, 2005 11:29 AM (GMT)
I dont really know about Ikari Warriors on the Atari ST as i had an Amiga but i ioved that game. Me and my mate kept playing that till we finished it. Excellent 2 player game and i'm glad it had an ending (unlike some versions of Commando).
markopoloman - December 2, 2005 01:56 PM (GMT)
Impossamole - on ANY system!
After Monty on the Run and Auf Wiedersein Monty - this had to be one of the biggest let downs in history!
psj3809 - December 2, 2005 02:58 PM (GMT)
Agree with you there. The graphics for Monty Mole looked totally different and the game was a huge letdown, such a shame after the classic earlier games
DonkeySpank - December 2, 2005 03:36 PM (GMT)
My only gripe with Ikari Warriors is that "big boss" guy at the end, he's ridicilous!! He's about 30ft tall and looks as camp as a row of tents in that green floppy hat!!
And Commando on the c64 DID have an ending by the way - even if it was after 3 levels DOH!
psj3809 - December 2, 2005 04:03 PM (GMT)
Yeah sorry i was talking about the Speccy version.
Thats one game which i love on both formats, shorter game on the C64 but very good and like i say i like it that it has an ending.
Commando on the Speccy is very playable, about 8 levels or so which are very good but just loops round at the end.
Rambo again on both platforms is good, prefer the C64 version which is very good, Speccy version could have been very good if it wasnt for the poor scrolling (not like Commando at all) and the basic intelligence of the enemy troops.
Who Dares Wins II is another good shoot em up game for both platforms. (You can tell i like Commando style games !)
DonkeySpank - December 2, 2005 04:09 PM (GMT)
Oooh yeah, they're ALL good games, I had them all on the speccy and loved each one - even though Commando had no ending it was a great game. Rambo I had on the c64 also but preferred the speccy one for some reason, and the c64 one was a lot easier than the spec version. Who Dares Wins 2 was a great 64 game, although it actually "felt" like a budget game to me!
Patdfb - December 3, 2005 03:12 AM (GMT)
Robot Warlords PS2, Bad beyond words, infact iam still in therapy now trying to get it outta my system...... JET ION GP has more redeeming features than this stinking pile of YAKS excrement
TTFN PINKY * Big Robots yay.. what you cant actually controll them and its turn based and takes forever and ever for one more when you get a badly animated cut scene and fights are over a street or wrecked plane and are soo long ive played a season of champ in less time... arrgggggggh*
ToxieDogg - December 15, 2005 12:14 AM (GMT)
Final Fight for the Spectrum. Looks nice in still pictures, but describing the actual game as 'shit' would be complimentary to it. Probably the worst arcade to 8 bit home computer game that I've ever played
Captain America and the Avengers on SNES was a bad 'un too.
