and yes thats my cider down the side of 2 high voltage monitors LMAO

RS200 - December 5, 2005 05:52 PM (GMT)
Well, what can i say that hasn't already been said.

I couldn't go on the Sunday but was pleading with other engineers to go and do my job that i was to do as i soooo wanted to go. A message to any of you who missed this - Do NOT miss another one .. you will regret it.

It was incredible to meet everyone from the forum - It was almost like a school reunion and would do it every week too if i could. I think the best bit by far was meeting all you guys, sure meeting the celebs was great and seeing the new Retro Gamer blew my mind - but meeting the real people behind the "avater" was what it was all about for me. I was thinking on the way back up to Yawkshire that It just seemed so surreal that we could all get along so quickly and easily - like we had known each other for 20 years or something ..

Turri - hope you got over your mario kart drubbing buddy ;D - plenty more where that came from !...

Mike - Great Seeing you bud, ur a top bloke - and a mean Silvergun player (unlike me) :)

Koops - what can you say about Koops ... another gem of a guy ..

Rossi46 - genuine and funny - and drives the same car as me - down the the same damn alloys ! .. couldn't meet a nicer scotsman.

Merman - Could talk to you for hours and hours .. awesome guy.

Donkeyspank - Didn't spank any Donkeys while i was there ! - wanted to talk to you more, but again .. ur a great bloke -

psj - arh .. Paul, wished you could of stayed longer on Saturday ! - top bloke !! .. hope your Raiders can do better next season.

AlzoXP - Great work on Retro Fusion and was sooo nice to see you there with your gf !

Btyler - Retropassion roXX !!! .. another top guy.

CdrJameson - Andy, utmost respect to what you and Merman (and Mat!) have done with Retro Survival .. was nice to talk to you again (all be it fleetingly)

.. and last but not least Boyo .. or Chris ... buddy - could never of happened without you .. and I really hope we get another one soon !! .. total respect and you know if there is anything i can do to help with anything - i will.

*enough pats on backs for now me thinks*

Great show guys ..

Ross ....

oh yeah :)

DonkeySpank - December 5, 2005 05:59 PM (GMT)
Hey RS200, it was really great to get together, it felt like a bit of a family reunion to me too, really weird given we'd never met each other before but it felt like I sort of knew people already! Looks like I'll be getting a PSP now thanks to blasting away on your white one! ;)

Looking forward to meeting up with everyone again at the next event.

Oh yeah, all the spanking of donkeys was done at the bar!

 WHY I OUGHTA!!!!!!!

:D :D :D

Good to see everyone made it home safely, before I go any further... :)

I WILL have my revenge, Ross, you can quote me on that... ;)

In the pic, BTW, DJ Massive is just behind Koops and Mike, just so you know.

You guys are all top blokes, and I really mean that from the bottom of that blood pumpin thing stuck inside me, if the amount of love for retro shown at the Retro Ball is anything to go by then I think we can safely say that the Retro ideal is in safe hands and will last forever. Time for me to do my pat on the backs.. I couldn't do it earlier as I was at work, so bear with me..... and I will try not to make this a whole page :D

Mike - you are a shoot-em-up genius :D Watchin you play Silvergun was a joy and I was amazed at half the stuff you can do without any effort.. top man.

Koops - The man who can drink anyone under the table, mainly because he himself drank the place dry and everyone else had to suck the cider out the carpet ;) Pleasure to meet you, although I am a bit saddened that I never got to see you fighting at your best on SFII (if I admit it, I beat him 3-1 when he was well trollied).

Alzo - Good to see another Scot making it down besides Rossi and myself. You sounded like you had a great time, here's hoping we see you at the next one :)

Merman - Such a great pleasure to meet you and I just knew that as soon as I did that we'd get on great guns.. saturday night was a hoot and it was just so much fun in general to play against and to chat with you. Look forward to seeing you on the Back in Time DVD :D

Ross - I have to say that although we are all men with retro running through our veins, you are the one that I could see it most clearly through. Your enthusiasm just blew me away and you could see that you were having a whale of a time, although if I am standing next to you and merman when you two sing Hey, Hey 16K again....... hold me back ;) :D

Rossi - What can I say to you mate that I haven't already? Easy trip up, Easy trip down and for most of the trip back home the radio was off and all we did was talk retro, that's how well we got on. Great guy with a great family. Say hi to them for me. :)

HelloAll - Nice man you are, yes. Had a great time chatting away with you on Sunday along with merman, and I'm just bummed that I couldn't find you for the picture, still there's always next year, right? :)

Finally Boyo - I have nothing but sheer admiration for a man that managed to pull off something so special in so little time. Sure there are CGE's and what have you, but to me, even though this was my first retro convention, it just felt like the whole event was like a homecoming for the forumites, a personal invitation for us all to come along and meet up as not just friends on the forum, but actual living and breathing friends who all got along as soon as the ID's were mentioned. A gentleman and a scholar sir and an honour to talk with you. Thank you for the best retro weekend I think any of us could have dreamed of. :)

There are other guys who were there, but I only saw briefly, like DJ Massive, btyler, Donkey Spank, Strider, CdrJameson and others, but for all the guys I have missed, I salute you for being there.

Cheers to you all for something truly memorable. :D

Donnanut - December 5, 2005 07:22 PM (GMT)
Hey Turry, I am sad now that I missed it :( . Put me down for a definate yes for any event in 2006, As long as you guys don't mind having a girlie around :D  :P
