Title: Retro Fusion Issue 1 - A preview
boyo - December 28, 2005 01:08 PM (GMT)
Well chaps, its nearly the new year and my plans for January is to get Retro Fusion Issue 1 done.
Here is a taster of whats coming up in the issue :
Philip Oliver - The making of the Dizzy Games from the man himself
Jon Hare - Sex, Drugs and Rock and Roll - the making of
Andrew Oliver - How Game Making has changed since 1985
The Retro Ball - the real story - by me!
The History of Pinball - 1st of a series of articles
Star Wars Toys by Mr RetroRevival
Retro Program - The A Team
Hit Squad article by Turrican
Articles hopefully by David Whittaker, Chris Abbott and Archer Maclean.
and more....
Issue 1 will have some extended articles of those that appeared in Issue 0, e.g. Koopa42 will be doing a 4 page Street Fighter article and the Remakes article will be extended to 4 pages.
Well that's enough for now - remember to leave feedback on the www.retrofusion.co.uk website if you have seen the mag and also any other idea you may have on going forward with it.

Super stuff boyo.
Sounds like its going to be another cracker of a mag.
and Koops will cream himself to find the A-team AND his 4 page SFII scribbles in the mag :o
Whats the rough ETA for it then?

I'm looking to get the mag done and dusted by the end of Jan. It's up to Alligata Media the strategy and timescales after that B)

The latest news (and without giving too much away!) ...
Retro Bytes Lite is being merged with Retro Fusion. Retro Bytes Lite will continue to be 24 pages in length and will be the middle pages of Retro Fusion so if so desired can be extracted.
The magazine in total will hopefully be 96 pages in length.
Shaun Bebbington and I met (with Koops) in Birmingham yesterday and talked for most of the afternoon on our ideas for a way forward for the joint effort and how we deploy it.
I am currently in discussions with a large well known chain in stocking and deploying the magazine.
So all positive at the moment. Everyone keep their fingers crossed for us :D
The new Retro Fusion website will be launched in the next week. Head over to
www.retrofusion.co.uk now to take a look at the holding page and get a flavour for how it will look.
If we do launch and Retro Fusion does become successful – just think how much Issue 0 will be on sale for on E-bay – there are still copies left – get yours now on-line on the RF webpage (an investment for the future, maybe!).

Let me guess - the meeting was in a pub?
Good update though Boyo. Interesting to see where this goes and what sort of support it gets. Lets just hope that the merger doesn't dilute the content - too many cooks and all that...
Oh, btw, when you say you're in talks with a large chain re distribution, I presume it'll make its way North of the Border?
