Title: Old chocolate bar no one remembers

Spectrum - December 28, 2005 04:03 PM (GMT)
Please soothe my aching mind :(

There was a bar of chocolate in the early - mid 80s called "ONE TWO". It was a double finger thing like a Drifter or a Twix. It was in a blue wrapper with red and white writing on. And if I remember correctly you could separate the bars because there were perforations down the middle.

NO ONE I know seems to remember these

Tell me I'm not dreaming about this.....please!

Your mad

I can't find this anywhere, best ask on a good nostalgia forum.

However in looking for it I discovered that I was right that Pacers were Opal Mints. So, while you might be mad, I'm not... :D

I'd had the same conversation about Texans, for the last 10 years anyone I discussed them with denied all knowledge of them. (now though, they all know better!)

Good luck in finding out. My Texan quest lasted 10 years but ended ok, I could finally take the corks off of my forks.

PS How about a big puffy green honeycomb bar that tasted minty with a chocolate coating? Around the same time Texan's were. Anyone?

I'm thinking of a Mint Cracknel but that wasnt puffy.
On a side note i got a vision of an old bar,log shaped and covered in peanuts.
If that still existed those poor people with nut allegies would be scared to go to the shops.

Wasn't that simply called "Puff Candy". Seems obvious, but I'm sure that's what those were called...

There was a plain one in an orange wrapper and a choccy mint one, possibly in a greenish wrapper.

I definitely remember them - I don't think they were called "candy" though, not in the UK anyway.

What the hell the name was is beyond me though

I'm in Scotland, and there definitely was a bar called "Puff Candy." It's kind of a generic term for the stuff, at least up here it is.

Still, it's not neccesarily the bar you're thinking of, but the one I mean was called "candy" which I agree is unusual in Blighty.

You could have just gone to Texas. Lots of them over there

and Puff Candy it may have been, that sounds vaguely familiar. My alcohol pickled brain ain't what it used to be.

"Ally bally, ally bally bee,
Sittin' on yer mammy's knee,
Greetin' for a wee bawbie,
To buy some Culter candy"

Sorry. Any mention of candy always brings that to mind.

I believe you're right with Puff Candy, I recall eating loads of them. About the same width and length as a Mars bar (king size iirc), but about twice the height, in a similar shape to the 'new' Aero bars (which aren't a patch on the original slabs). Def a green one of those for the minty one.

I remember the log shaped bar. Very nice they were, and appropriate enough named 'Logger' by Cadbury's.

That's exactly what I remember... Mystery solved?

As for the two bar thing we started on I have no idea. But I still think a good nostalgia forum is your best bet. I know there was a good one but I can't remember at the mo what it was...

I'm stumped on the 'One Two'. Every time I try to picture it I end up thinking of Cadbury's Twirl. Its bothering me, so I've just sent Cadbury's an email to see if they can help.

Sureshot - January 17, 2006 09:52 PM (GMT)
The only thing remotely similar I can think of were 5 4 3 2 1 bars, they were in a blue wrapper but there was only 1 in a pack.

Cadburys replied. They reckon the 'One Two' isn't one of theirs and I should give Nestle a go.
