Title: What do you have in your CD players right now?
Elgin_McQueen - April 15, 2006 05:07 PM (GMT)
Like the question says what do you have in your cd player/tape deck/minidisk player/comp right now? I have :
Quasimoto - The further adventures of Lord Quas
Viktor Vaughn - Vaudeville Villain
King Geedorah - Take me to your leader
In my cd player, basically in an MF Doom mood lately since a mate turned me onto him. In fact if I remember correctly the Madvillain album has plenty of SF2 samples, would keep koops happy. :D

I have The Shins - New Slang cos I heard it on Garden State and thought I could be cool like people who watch loads of movies and adopt character lifestyles and claim they've been emo or ska for years.
I also have Nofx 6 song ep thingy called Never trust a hippy which I ripped from the internet. Hey it's wrong, but if punk wants me to fight the system in my anarchy pants, I'll be buggered if I'll buy their anti-commercialism for £17 import in HMV.
necronom - April 20, 2006 11:00 AM (GMT)
Meds - the new Placebo album, the first Yeah, Yeah, Yeahs album and The Best of Bowie are in my car at the moment.

Saw them live last year at a Rammstein concert and was totally amazed at what they were doing. Kept on looking for the electric guitars before I realised there weren't any.
RS200 - April 21, 2006 10:00 AM (GMT)
ooh nice thread :)
In my 6 CD changer in the car I currently have:
Scott Brown - X: 10 Years of Hardcore volume 2 (CD1) (Happy Hardcore)
CLSM - Transmission to Mars (Breakbeat Hardcore, Freeform)
Linda Bengtzing - Ingenting att förlora (pure unadultarated Swedish Pop!)
Bobina - Beautiful Friends (Progressive Trance)
Home made Trance mix from 1998 - the golden age of trance with tracks like For an Angel, 1998, Out of the Blue, Cream and many other classics. (Classic Trance)
Sunscreem - o3 (Classic Dance from the mid 90's)
Antiriad2097 - April 21, 2006 10:08 AM (GMT)
Today in iTunes I am listening to:
Adam & The Ants - Dirk Wears White Sox (1979). A somewhat dischordant selection of tunes, but very evocative of both their time and the chaotic images they wanted to portray. You just don't get lyrics like "I dreamt I was a spastic, but my boots were clean" any more...
My PSP is loaded with Retrobits (last couple of episodes to catch up with) and the Nintendo Retrocast. Much more austere.
merman - April 21, 2006 10:32 AM (GMT)
Air - Talkie Walkie on my PC this morning
TheMadWelshMan91 - April 21, 2006 11:34 AM (GMT)
Jimi Hendrix-The Ultimate Experiance in my stereo
Elgin_McQueen - April 21, 2006 01:04 PM (GMT)
Just added Punkorama's 8 and 10 to my PSP.

Podcasts (though you
don't need an iPod to download and listen to them). Much like RetroGaming Radio predates podcasting by several years, they're downloadable episodic radio shows in MP3 format so can be played on any MP3 player. I just happen to have a 1Gb memory stick in my PSP so its convenient to play them on that.
Anyway, you can find more here...
Retrobits:
http://www.retrobits.com/Mainly focused on 8-bit computing rather than gaming, but it covers things such as programming. Most episodes have a particular theme, either generalised (e.g. Assembly language) or specific to a particular platform (e.g. Sinclair Spectrum). Its a very slow paced show, but thats one of the reasons I like it.
The Nintendo Retrocast:
http://nintendo.theretrocast.com/Only listened to a couple of episodes of this so far. Amusing at times, its a very informal show and much looser in its presentation. Its almost the complete opposite of Retrobits (personally I prefer the former).
And I couldn't possibly not mention RetroGaming Radio:
http://www.retrogamingradio.com/Around 7 years old now, Shane seems more like an old friend than a broadcaster. The show is
way better than his RG column would have you believe. He's had some great interviews with real stars of the classic gaming scene.
spikey_d - April 24, 2006 08:18 AM (GMT)
CD Player - The Prodigy: The Fat Of The Land

Altough I prefer DJ Neophyte....

you like some kick ass music bud, I have all the Bonkers CDs, it is something I buy the day they come out .. Hardcore Heaven CDs are the same for me too.
Neophyte is a bit TOO hard for me .. you know what I mean ? .. almost Gabba !.
CLSM roXX so much though, I think out of everybody, he is my favourite producer. He has such range and ideas with instruments which nobody has come up with yet .. always fresh .. I also like Hixxy a lot too .. he always seems to be able to make a commercial dance track into a HHC anthem !.
Re-Con, Sy and Unknown, Gammer, Sharkey ... all gods ..
Mr. Pointless - April 24, 2006 05:41 PM (GMT)
I gave up with that stuff halfway through secondary school. It was 1999 at the time and I drifted towards Trance music very quickly (Thank you Ferry Corsten :D )
