Title: Strange speech in games...

Jumpman - April 15, 2006 09:38 PM (GMT)
Two are making me laff currently, both on the DS.

Sonic Rush: In the boss battles Eggman keeps shouting "Prepare to be school!"

SMK: Bowser shouts "Ebay!" every time he overtakes someone.

Anyone got more or think they're saying something else?

Hunter's Moon on the C64, always sounds like the starcells say "meanwhile" as you pick them up...

Not really retro either, but one magazine commented on how Knuckles kept say what sounded like "SHIT!" everytime he hit a wall in Sonic Heroes

Far be it for me to be the picky **** that I am, what Eggman is actually saying is "Prepare to be schooled" - whatever the **** that means anyway.

On the Sonic Rush thing aswell, whenever Tails / Cream says something when Sonic / Blaze are choosing a stage, what they say, is not what actually appears in the speech bubble (?!)

Also, on Sonic Adventure 2, has anyone noticed that sometimes, a character will speak over another character?

Prime Example:
Shadow: "You're comparing yourself to me? Hah! You're not even good enough to be my fake!"

Sonic: "I'll make you eat those words!"

Sonic actually says that just before Shadow finishes his sentence!!

This kind of stuff happens a lot in SA2

Which version, Spikey, the DC version or Battle on the GC?

I'm not sure whether or not it happens on the Dreamcast version. I have it on GameCube (SA2: Battle) - It probably still does have the speech problem.....

I think one of my friends also told me that the DC version of SA2 had a sound-test problem of some sort. When you go to new levels and the level themes become available to listen to, when you restart the game, the sounds are no longer there??!
