hi guyz, I thought I would start another post as you all liked the Cartoon Classics one, so on the opposite, let's talk about the Musics from your favorite TV Show, TV's greatest hits as they say, For me , a strange one, but never have seen it since it died of TV, "Street Hawk" music by Tanerine Dreams, it was brillant, or the "A-team" (Koopa42, Will remember Dis One :) ) music, no one ever got killed but, hey the music was great, Then there's "Airwolf" some of the best Synth music for it's time and I play it today and it is as good as ever. So I'm sure there is loads of stuff to talk about and share your experiencies with the rest of us, as I like to find out how the other half lives :)

Freddy Hardest - October 3, 2005 02:01 PM (GMT)
The Top Gear theme is 'Jessica' by The Allman Brothers Band. Check out the live version, it lasts about 15 minutes and has awesome slide guitar by Duane Allman.

The start bit of "Sapphire And Steel" is one of my favourites. I have an mp3 of it. :)

TJ HOOKER, now theres a theme to be proud of, and it sits so well with sliding through ice action shots,

I agree with the others Magnum is a cracker, Miami Vice and the Profesionals are way up there too

but my all time fav is the bionic man, "gentleman we have the technology we can rebuild him"

PS I love those ropey soundilikie albums from the 70's one I have has a version of Galactica that sounds like it was recorded on a casiotone keyboard.

and its true you do learn something everyday, did'nt know Brian May did the starfleet track, do remember it getting into the Top 40 though, or was I just dreaming...

markopoloman - October 4, 2005 11:48 PM (GMT)
You sure about brian may and starfleet?

I've got the cd single by Brian may/eddie van halen/cosy powell - and the inlay says

Brians kids asked him to do a cover of the starfleet music cus they liked it. - so he got some of his chums together in re-made it.

as for who did the origional theme........ maybe it was brian????

I'm looking about here and there's no mention of Grange Hill! Some mistake, surely.

As for other favourites, in alphabetical order (since I'm reading them off my "TV" playlist in iTunes :D ): The Addams Family, The A-Team, 60's Batman, Beadle's About, Captain Pugwash, Captain Scarlet, Cheers, Doogie Howser MD, The Ewoks, The Family Ness, Follyfoot, Fraggle Rock, Geordie Racer, Hammerman, Henry's Cat, Hong Kong Phooey, Inspector Gadget, Jim'll Fix It, Johnny Briggs, Knightmare, Knight Rider, The Krypton Factor, The Littlest Hobo, MASK, Magic Roundabout, Man In A Suitcase, Mission Impossible, Pidgeon Street, Pugwall, Quantum Leap, Quincy, Rainbow, Rolf Harris's Cartoon Time, Roobarb and Custard, Stoppit and Tidyup, Supergran, The Sweeney, Telebugs, Thundercats, The Tick, Topcat, Transformers, Zig Zag and the Gallery off Hartbeat.

Oh, and that tune off ITV Schools where you had precisely one minute to shuttle one class out the TV room and another one in.

Some of them really are shite tunes, but I'm making no apologies as I still listen to them like a big grinning idiot (or laughing out loud in the case of at least two of them).

scoca - October 5, 2005 10:23 AM (GMT)
I'm fond of the Monkey theme myself. :D

anyone else remember Harold Lloyd?
I watched it when it was shown in the early 80's, the theme song was pretty good too.

I agree about Airwolf, Knightrider and Miami Vice, all classics.

The Doctor Who tune was funky, in a muddied-me-pants kinda way. (at the time, obviously it doesn't affect me now) :o

Harold Lloyd was absolutely brilliant

Freddy Hardest - October 5, 2005 12:09 PM (GMT)
Paul McCartney wrote the theme to Crossroads.

Sure was.
Black and white, silent (apart from the odd bit of voice-over), text caption popping up every few minutes.
I can't imagine an 8 year old watching something like that nowadays.
(Kids these days, don't know they're born grumble grumble.. :D )

Also, I've got a vague memory of a program called 'Everybody Here' I think.
I only remember the opening credits cos of a guy quickly saying:

everybody
verybody
erybody
rybody (rye-body)
ybody (y-body)
body
ody
dy (die)
y (why)

Anyone remember this show? What was it about?
