Remember when anime first started happening over in the west, you always got the Manga ad's in CVG.

I still prefer all the old ones. Vampire Hunter D, Akira (one of the best), Dominion Tank Police, Project AKO... etc.

And the heavy metal track that was at the start of every release. Quailty.

:D

Innocence.

It's great, watched it earlier this year. Looks absolutely stunning too.

One thing... it's pretty slow. In a good way imo.

Fist of the North Star is the dogs dangly bits. It looks dated now, but the animation is still top notch.

I'm a big fan of manga.

I have ghost in the shell(movie and series), dominion tank police, patlabour 1 & 2, street fighter 2, shadow skill and a few others.

I watched GitS2 a little while ago, and found it one of the hardest films ever to keep up with.

I've still got most of the very early Manga label videos here... wonder if they are worth anything now?

Antiriad2097 - October 26, 2005 08:30 PM (GMT)
That reminds me I bought Dominion Tank Police from a charity shop not long ago and haven't watched it yet. Must dig it out.

I have Urotsukidoji 1, 2 & 3 here still. Bought them when they came out as it amused me they were 18 cert cartoons.

I think the only others I bought were Crying Freeman and Akira.

Was given a load of others but got bored with them and gave them away. Can't remember what they were now, but a whole series of a dozen or so videos.

I've still got a load of old anime knocking about. Just found a random episode of Doomed Megalopolis recently. That was another early one.

I was watching Cyber City OEDO 808 the other night too. The dubbing on that is quality... in a really bad, but funny way.

That got a limited release in cinemas across the UK if I remember right.

I've seen it, but never owned a copy.

Wasn't that run on Channel 4 around midnight a few years back? I vaguely recall seeing some.

I d/led the complete 12 episode series recently and stuck it on 2 dvds. Hurray for torrents. I own the vhs originals so it's ok, right?

Antiriad2097 - October 28, 2005 06:50 AM (GMT)
Technically, in the UK, no thats not alright, but I doubt the copyright police will be knocking on your door. Our copyright laws are such a farce it'd be laughed out of court.

Any anime fans might be interested in this, my copy arrived the other day box's and discs look awfull but what's on them seems good enough quality for £1 a disc

http://www.theworks-art-books-music.com/sh...od=1455&xSec=46

It's baiscally volume 1's of a number of Manga series with the hope that you'll like one and then buy the series at fill price. It's completely legit and if you have a works store near you you can pick one up there £15 for 10 discs.

enjoy

I have Golgo 13, awesome anime. They made a sequel as well (wasn't bad, but was really short).
