Description: and other crap you put on your wheels.

Who else had 'em?

Also, who remembers those reflectors that you got free in Cornflakes late 80's... I hated them, but it didn't stop me attaching them to the wheels of my BMX. :D

"Spokey Dokeys" - I read that as Spooky Donkeys to begin with. I was trying to think why people would put donkeys (spooky ones at that) on their wheels  I had a horn on my bike that sounded a bit like a donkey...

Anyway, I can only guess that they were the same thing that we used to do on our bikes. We would cut up bits of plastic and attach them to the frame, so the spokes would hit them - instant motorbike engine! :D

There was only two reasons to own a pack of cards when I was a nipper.
The first was for making a set of flights for throwing arrows.
The second was for sticking them in the spokes of your bike to produce a vaguely "motorbikey" sound.

Actually there was three. But I didn't play Scabby Queen (commonly known as "raps" by the posh kids) until I got to secondary school. :D

I remember them well, and I'll tell you why...

Cereal used to last for ages in our house so I got very few free gifts (I'm up to my ears in them now).

When they gave the spoke reflectors away in Cornflakes, actually I think it was the Tiger ones from Frosties. Never mind, when I got he box it said there was one free inside. I figured it would be the only one I got, but when I opened the box I pulled out 5.

I couldn't believe it! One box of cereal and my back wheel was done :D I wish I could have seen my face as after each one I pulled out yet another...
After 2 I was just mucking about but still they came...

Lucky you!

This gives me an idea for a thread.
